Lloydminster Employment Opportunities


Surveyor

Clifton is currently searching for a Surveyor for our Lloydminster office. As part of the Survey Department you will report to your branch manager and project managers in regards to providing field surveys, data management, and reporting

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and performing field surveys supported by a survey assistant.
  • Liaise with Project Managers and Project Engineers regarding timing requirements, priority, and survey methodology used.
  • Liaise with the client’s field representative.
  • Preparing and communicating field notes, sketches, checklists, and digital data in the formats required by the drafting department or project manager.
  • Review field and office procedures regarding survey matters.
  • Provide topographic layouts, cross-sectional surveys, and calculate quantities including earthworks (excavation, backfill, stockpiles), water volumes and surface areas, construction layouts, drainage surveys, and road surveys in accordance with the Geomatics Department standards.
  • Providing high quality service to all clients and stakeholders of each project.
  • Lead survey crew.
  • Train and mentor junior surveyors and technicians.
  • Ability to be flexible and collaborate, while maintaining high standards and quality work within a fast-paced environment.

Position Qualifications and Experience

  • A graduate of post-secondary course related to surveying and geomatics from a recognized college or university.
  • Minimum five years experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Willing to work overtime and in remote locations upon request.
  • Have experience with the use of ATVs, snowmobiles, and chainsaws.
  • Ability to use and adapt to the latest survey equipment and software.

Calgary Employment Opportunities


Intermediate Civil Design Engineer

Clifton Associates is a mid-sized consultancy that focuses on civil, geotechnical, transportation, environmental, water resources and geological engineering. Clifton (Calgary) is searching for a registered Intermediate Civil Design Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience in landfill design and municipal engineering. This contract position is intended for a 12-month period; however permanent employment may be negotiated.

Our employees are involved in a variety of multi-disciplinary projects within the Civil Practice area. Although landfill and municipal design is key for this position, we are looking for a talented individual who can apply their skills to other areas such as road, rail, drainage, and underground designs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Intermediate Civil Design Engineer
  • Design with AutoCAD Civil 3D using alignments, profiles, corridors and grading features
  • Process topographic survey data for design and drafting
  • Prepare engineering drawings (plan/profiles, civil utilities, cross sections, details, and exhibits)
  • Quantity takeoff for linear infrastructure
  • Assist in detailed engineering reports, specifications, and calculations
  • Deliver project drawings to project managers within allocated budget and schedule

Position Qualifications and Experience

The preferred candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of an Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering

Clifton is currently searching for an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer for our Saskatoon office.  The position reports to the Regional Manager and the incumbent is expected to work closely within Clifton’s Earth Sciences Practice Team. 

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Project Management including accountability for project financial results
  • Prepare on-time, accurate invoicing, collections and update backlog reports
  • Communicating with clients and sub-consultants and internal stakeholders
  • Planning, conducting, and supervising geotechnical investigations
  • Evaluating geologic conditions and geotechnical characteristics for assessment and design of shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures and earth structures
  • Analyzing field data and preparing detailed engineering reports and recommendations
  • Oversees/approves client reports and drawings before submission
  • Provide technical leadership in geotechnical projects and tasks, including the development and implementation of geotechnical field and laboratory programs

Senior Transportation Engineer

Clifton has an exciting opportunity for a demonstrated leader with Transportation skills to lead a young talented and diverse engineering team within our Saskatoon office. Reporting to our Senior Transportation Lead and working closely within Clifton's Infrastructure Practice Team corporately, the successful candidate(s) will provide a technical and managerial role within the organization.

You will provide leadership and deliver project management, design and construction support for the transportation and infrastructure services group.

Intermediate/Senior Civil Design Engineer

Our Regina office is looking for a full-time Civil Engineer to manage the engineering services for underground and surface facilities on land development projects. These services include the design of curbs, gutters, sidewalks, and pavement, as well as storm sewers, sanitary sewers, and water supplies. 

As a group leader, you will provide technical expertise and supervision for all of your groups’ day-to-day operations. These responsibilities include recruiting and mentoring your workers and enforcing safety precautions and a high standard of customer service. Our chosen candidate will also have the desire and capability to participate in on-going business development and client liaisons. 

The preferred candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Status in the industry of earthwork and transportation design
  • A graduate/post-graduate degree in civil engineering
